Inspired by the Hazing Prevention Network logo, participants place their hand over their heart—a simple yet meaningful gesture that symbolizes integrity, accountability, and the personal promise to lead with respect. More than a pose, it represents a shared commitment to building teams, organizations, and communities rooted in trust rather than harmful traditions.
The campaign comes to life through a series of photos featuring real members of your campus community—student leaders, varsity and club athletes, fraternity and sorority members, marching band, faculty, staff, advisors, residence life, campus recreation, and others—each photographed with their hand over their heart. Pair each image with a brief message about leadership, belonging, teamwork, or respect to demonstrate that hazing prevention is everyone’s responsibility. Featuring recognizable faces from across campus reinforces that this is a community-wide commitment, not the responsibility of any one group.
Encourage participants to share their own “Hand Over Heart” photos on social media, invite friends and teammates to join the movement, and use a common campaign hashtag such as #BeTheLeader alongside your institution’s own hashtags.
