The Hazing Prevention Network (HPN) is honored to be approved by the Higher Education Consortium for Student Affairs Certification to provide continuing education credit for Certified Student Affairs Educators (CSAEd™).
“We’re excited to recognize the Hazing Prevention Network as an approved provider for Student Affairs Educators Certification continuing education credits,” said Higher Education Consortium Executive Director Joseph DeSanto Jones. “Within this first year of the program, we’ve had over 200 educators achieve Core and Specialty Area certifications in Campus Activities, Campus Housing and Residential Life, Campus Recreation, College Unions, Fraternity and Sorority Life, and Student Conduct Administration. Through achieving and maintaining certification, these educators are formally demonstrating their knowledge and competencies, commitment to ethical practice, and ongoing learning.”
“The Hazing Prevention Network is committed to empowering people to prevent hazing,” said HPN Executive Director Todd Shelton. “Providing continuing education credit is an important incentive to assure campus professionals are staying current on hazing research and anti-hazing methods and programming. We are grateful for this new partnership with the Consortium.”
The Higher Education Consortium for Student Affairs Certification promotes and advances student affairs and services in higher education by assessing and recognizing individual educators who demonstrate competency in established domains, commit to ongoing learning and professional development, and comply with the code of ethics. The Consortium was collaboratively established by student affairs professional associations to manage Student Affairs Educator Certification.
Certification is designed to benefit individual educators at the mid-level and above, higher education institutions, and the larger student affairs and services profession. There have traditionally been limited means for educators to demonstrate their competencies and knowledge growth through ongoing work experience, and to then formally exhibit this growth in pursuit of lifelong learning and professional advancement. Certification offers a robust set of credentials to demonstrate this growth.
