Host a Hazing Prevention Institute at your Institution

Host the Institute for your staff and advisors at your location

Make a big impact to your hazing prevention efforts. While you can still send a group or individuals to the summer Hazing Prevention Institute in Indianapolis, we can also bring the Hazing Prevention Institute to your location to host the program for your entire hazing prevention team from your campus or university system. (We recommend including staff across disciplines including athletics, fraternity & sorority life, campus recreation, housing, campus police, conduct, band, etc.)

The Institute curriculum, developed in partnership with the Piazza Center, aims to address individual, organizational, and community-level hazing motivators, apply prevention concepts to your campus or organization, and identify strategies to disrupt hazing cultures. Participants will also learn change management strategies and leave with specific steps to enhance your comprehensive hazing reduction program.

“The sessions were extremely valuable in helping our team gain a broader understanding of trends, motivators and barriers for reducing hazing. The Hazing Prevention Network provided actionable information and resources to elevate the prevention work on our campus.

“We partnered with the Hazing Prevention Network and the Piazza Center to provide professional development for staff and administrators across five university campuses. With a small planning window, HPN created a customized training for us based on their Hazing Prevention Institute that explored the current prevention landscape, hazing research and motivators, and prevention and response. For the culminating activity, campuses began working on a data-driven hazing prevention plan, which provided a solid foundation for ongoing discussion about our systemwide efforts to address hazing. The entire event–start to finish–was structured to provide opportunities for deep learning and growth, engagement with knowledgeable researchers and practitioners, and collaboration, and proved to be a valuable experience for our campus partners. I highly recommend a partnership with Hazing Prevention Network for any university or organization looking to better equip and empower themselves to address hazing.
